The mild climate in and around Tampa makes it a great place to ride a motorcycle, but busy streets and distracted drivers increase the chances of being in an accident. Rarely is there such a thing as a minor motorcycle accident. Other than perhaps a helmet, nearly all motorcycle riders are exposed and unprotected. There isn't a steel body with a frame surrounding them, and there aren't any crumple zones either. Air bags and seat restraint systems are non-existent.

Unlike some police departments in some cities, Tampa Police respond to all car accidents. If you were involved in a crash of any type, call 911 and an officer will be dispatched. Depending on your location, a Tampa Police Department (TPD) officer or a Hillsborough County Sheriff will respond.

Questions about your accident and injuries are going to arise though, especially if one or more other vehicles were involved in a crash in the Tampa area.
